The Spielvereinigung Sud jazz band is a group of young musicians that met in college in Germany. They play four times a year, each time inviting a different guest artist to work with them. This time it was American composer John Hollenbeck. In this video we hear briefly from 2 of the musicians and from Hollenbeck. We also hear 2 short clips, the last one from a Hollenbeck composition inspired by the painter Maxfield Parrish. / Este grupo de jazz se compone de amigos que se conocieron en la universidad. Tocan juntos cuatro veces al año y cada vez invitan a un artista diferente a colaborar con ellos. Esta vez es el compositor estadounidense John Hollenbeck. Check out the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, a highly unique and theatrical bunch – think Tom Waits meets Dixieland jazz – as they play the Lovin’ Cup.
